Tin glazed hand painted mug

Modern Makers Collective

Harriet Coleridge is a Modern Makers Collective member and has been a potter since the mid 1980s when she trained at Aldermaston Pottery as an apprentice to Alan Caiger Smith.

She uses a range of techniques and has four different kilns both at her studio in Ewelme and in France.

These stoneware mugs are thrown on the wheel, tin glazed and decorated with coloured metal oxides before being fired to 1280’. They are more durable than traditional majolica as that is earthenware and fired to a lower temperature.

They are available in a variety of colours: blue, green, bronze, grey, manganese and, occasionally, pink. And in two sizes: 9.5 and 7 cms.
